Back in 2006, Kevin and Sarah Arrow ran a courier company.
Like most business owners at the time, they knew they needed a website. So they got one built. It looked fine. But nothing happened.
Then someone suggested adding animated swooshing doors that slid open when visitors changed pages. Very cutting edge. Very impressive.
Traffic went up. Time on site went up.
People clicked around… a lot. And enquiries? Still Nothing.
It turned out visitors were mesmerised by the swooshing doors.
Not interested in the services. A painful lesson, but an important one: A website existing is not the same as a website working.
Then came the well-meaning suggestion:
“You should be doing SEO.”
They smiled and agreed.
Truthfully, they had not a clue what that involved. There was no plain-English explanation. No practical roadmap. Just technical language and sweeping claims about what it might achieve.
So Sarah did what she tends to do when something does not make sense.
She tested it. She tried things. She paid attention. She learned as she went.
Almost by chance, she began writing articles that answered real customer questions. Not because it was fashionable. Not because someone on the internet told her it was essential. Simply because it made sense. If people were asking, why not respond?
Gradually, the shift was obvious.

Within four years, that steady experimentation helped land a contract worth seven figures.
What began as supporting Kevin’s courier business turned into something much bigger.
